Jarrett Adams Esq. is the co-founder of Life After Justice (reentry program) and post conviction litigation attorney with the Innocence Project in New York. Before practicing with the Innocence Project, Mr. Adams was wrongfully convicted at 17 and sentenced to serve 28 years in a maximum security prison. After serving nearly ten years, Jarrett was exonerated with the assistance of the Wisconsin Innocence Project at the University of Wisconsin Law School. Upon his release, Jarrett began working full-time as an investigator with the Federal Defender Program for the Northern District of Illinois, where he was named Investigator of the year for his work on the case of Reynolds Wintersmith, which led to Mr. Wintersmiths life sentence being commuted. Jarrett graduated from Loyola University Chicago Law School in May 2015, served a public interest fellowship with Judge Ann Claire Williams, U.S. Circuit Court Judge for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and then with Judge Deborah Batts, in the Southern District of NY.
